I have been using Joomla since 2009 and the choice of this platform is mainly linked to its robustness, the native management of multilingualism, access rights, as well as the multiple extensions allowing to enrich it and finally the quality of code structure and also community support.
WordPress
WordPress is also an open source and free content management system. Very successful and the most efficient in terms of SEO (Search Engine Optimization), the functionalities are equivalent to Joomla !. The number of users, the huge choice of plugins and templates make it the most widely used and popular CMS (Content Management System) in the world, but unfortunately it is also the most vulnerable in terms of security. I have been using WordPress since 2010.
Prestashop
Creating an e-commerce store with Prestashop, also free and open source solution, requires a certain level of expertise. This platform is ultra powerful and perfectly secure. In my opinion, it is suitable for shops selling a large number of products. Here again, plugins and support from the user community make it a top-notch e-commerce CMS.
